Python was created by Guido Van Rossum and first launched in 1991.Python 2.0, released in the year 2000 and introduced minimum features like List Comprehensions and Garbage collection system with reference counting.
After that Python 3.0 has been released in the year 2008, was a major revision of the language that is not completely Backward compatibles, and much Python 2 code does not run unmodified on Python 3.
Python 2 language was officially discontinued so no more security patches or other improvements will be release for Python 2. Only Python 3.5.x and later versions are supported.
